Energy 101 describes the key entities involved in energy generation, transmission, distribution, and regulation, as well as how they interact with each other. This publication also contains summaries of energy technologies currently available in Maryland, an energy policy history timeline, and milestone goals that frame the market, along with a helpful glossary of industry-related terms and a list of resource and reference links.

County-Municipality Resources
The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) is a corporate instrumentality of the state created by the General Assembly with a statute-directed mission to advance clean energy and energy efficiency products, services, and technologies as part of a specific economic development strategy.
Policy Updates
The 446th Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly was successful, with Maryland’s 188 State Representatives celebrating Sine Die. They introduced and reviewed nearly 3,500 pieces of legislation, including the budget bills. The focus was on supporting the administration through challenging budget restraints, addressing transportation funding, and implementing policies of the Department of Juvenile Services, state attorneys, and law enforcement. Additionally, measures were taken to support the environment and mitigate climate change.
